3 Ingredient Healthy Chocolate Mousse Dessert

Looking for a quick, delicious dessert that won't completely derail your health goals? This 3-ingredient healthy chocolate mousse is your answer! Made with just Good Culture Cottage Cheese, cocoa powder, and maple syrup, it’s a great protein-rich dessert. It’s the perfect treat for satisfying your sweet tooth without any guilt.

Now, I must say I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this! I, like you, probably heard “cottage cheese mousse” and turned their nose up. It is very rich, and has a deep chocolate flavor. Next time, I may add a touch more maple syrup and a splash of vanilla extract to make it a little sweeter… That’s just my preference!

But the ultimate test of this mousse was the Big John Test. Many of you know my husband (who we call Big John) LOVES (that may be an understatement!) anything chocolate. We thought it would be a fun test to make it for him, and NOT tell him what’s inside. Because let’s be real, what husband is going to get excited for healthy chocolate mousse?

The fact that Big John wasn’t completely uninterested, says something!

Ingredients: Simple and Nutritious

Preparation: Quick and Easy

To create this healthy chocolate mousse, simply add the cottage cheese, cocoa powder, and maple syrup to a food processor. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and well combined. You can enjoy immediately or chill for a firmer texture.

Toppings Ideas

  • Fresh Berries: Top with raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries.

  • Nuts and Seeds: Add a crunch with chopped almonds, walnuts, or a sprinkle of chia seeds.

  • Coconut: Opt for the unsweetened shredded coconut.

  • Whipped Cream: Add a dollop of whipped cream on top (that’s how I’d do it!)
