The Picture of Health

L et’s have a little heart to heart my friend…

When you think about ideal health, what comes to mind? Is it a reasonable number on the scale? Is it eating healthy? Is it looking good in a bathing suit? Is it losing a number of pounds in a week?

By that I mean, do you walk with energy, with a smile on your face, do you have a little "pep in your step", do you have the strength, energy and endurance to do your daily activities? Do you get excited when you think about the future and how you will walk out the purpose for your life and have the energy and vision to do it? Or do you drag yourself out of bed each day, feeling like you barley have the energy to get through the day, surviving on quick processed foods and coffee? Or maybe, your’e so busy that you don't even give your health a second thought… You’re just "too busy” to worry about your health right now.  No matter what your job title is, the amount of money you have, the hobby's you do and the opportunities you have: without making your health a priority, none of that matters.

Health is the most important aspect to our lives!

I was recently talking to a lady in the grocery store who is retired and has been working on getting healthier. She enjoys spending time taking care of her horses and working around her yard. She has had some physical issues over the years, but is making her health a priority by making healthier food choices, getting physical therapy and keeping herself active- despite the challenges she has had. I LOVE that she is not just settling where she is at, but taking action! Too often, people don't give their health a second thought until a health issue arrises. Even if there are no problems, we make excuses or talk ourselves out of taking action on our health because you tell yourself it's too hard.

As a certified FASTer Way to Fat Loss coach, I’ve shown many women & men how making a few simple lifestyle changes, and focusing on progress not perfection, can help them build a sustainable lifestyle that will last. Sure you can opt for the "quick fix" that may give you short term results to help you look good in a bathing suit for that vacation, but often these "quick fixes" are based on deprivation and calorie depletion. This type of diet lifestyle will leave you feeling tired, "hangry' and stuck in a vicious cycle.

I am so proud of my clients who range in age from 20-70 years when they celebrate wins like wearing jeans they haven’t worn in years, being able to go up the stairs without feeling winded, cooking real food for their families, having the strength to do workouts they’ve never done before and feeling confident and good about themselves. Notice that none of these wins I've mentioned talk about a number on a scale but simply progress on creating and living a healthier lifestyle. No matter what stage or age of life you're in, your health matters!

Let's take some action my friend!
